Thanks to everyone who turned up last Friday and thanks for your kind words at the finish and received in various emails, it really makes it worthwhile with positive feedback.

Thanks to the marshals that were often out in the rain, in no particular order they were: Dave Gregory, Rich Burdett, Dave Evans & Martin Ford. Also thanks to Phil Cork for driving me round the route to put the boards out.

I tried to make it a varied route which proved to be even more challenging given the weather, Guiting Wood offered its usual and I don’t think I’ve seen Hilcot quite as wet & muddy. One codeboard had been removed by someone or something which I have excluded from the results.

Kev & Ted had a faultless event with Dave & Emily close behind with one board missing, this may have also been removed but by the time they went through as Phil & Nick were the only other crew to spot it. Phil & Nick missed a different board, the last one, and would have pipped Dave & emily in to second otherwise. Craig & Tim, Bob & Jez finished with the same penalties but on count back Bob & Jez had dropped 1 more minute at TC2, very close.

Cheltenham Motor Club

It is very sad to announce the passing of Cheltenham Motor Club’s President, Dave Cooper.

Our condolences go out to his wife Kathy, sons Jeremy, Jonathan and Grandchildren.

Dave first became a member of CMC in 1971 and from the beginning played a big part in club activities. He was always organising and competing on motoring events far and wide, was an excellent rally navigator and sometime driver in his self-built ‘Gecko’. He became a senior steward for the national motor sports organisation Motorsport UK, was on CMC’s management committee for many years and became President in 2001. He was ever knowledgeable and helpful to new members and will be sadly missed by CMC’s committee and many others.

For those that knew him well and often saw him wearing shorts, even on the coolest of days, he suggested that you might also like to wear shorts if attending his funeral and celebration of his life, details below.

Three Shires Stages – Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

Cheltenham Motor Club, organisers of the 7^th September ‘Hills Ford Three Shires Stages Rally’, are pleased to report that we have donated £1000 to the Midland Air Ambulance on behalf of Eastnor Castle in respect of use of their facilities.

We have also donated £300 to the Midland Air Ambulance on behalf of Andrew Ruck and Charlotte Ashworth at Brockmore Farm who supplied bales for our event.
